Mission & Purpose: To provide capital funding to Rhode Island non-profit organizations. The foundation is dedicated to improving the lives of Rhode Islanders by supporting the "brick and mortar" needs of the organizations that serve them.

Broad Funding Guidelines: Grantmaking is strictly limited to Rhode Island. This is a highly specialized foundation: they generally do not fund programs or operating expenses. Instead, they fund Capital Projects (renovations, construction) and Equipment (vehicles, computers, medical devices). They have one major grant cycle per year.

Featured Opportunity: The foundation is one of the few that loves to fund "unsexy" but essential equipment. While other donors want to fund a new program, Champlin is the place to go when you need a new HVAC system, a new delivery van for your food pantry, or 50 new laptops for your school.
