Mission & Purpose: Founded by Doris Duke, the foundation is dedicated to the preservation of the architectural heritage of Newport, Rhode Island, and to promoting historic trades.

Broad Funding Guidelines: This is a hybrid operating/grantmaking foundation. While they primarily operate a collection of historic properties (including Rough Point), they also provide grants. Their grantmaking is highly specialized and focused on the Newport community.
