Mission & Purpose: To sustain and enhance the quality of life in America by advancing an understanding of rural issues. This is the philanthropic arm of NTCA–The Rural Broadband Association.

Broad Funding Guidelines: This is a national foundation focused on rural areas. The critical "catch" is that you must partner with a local NTCA member (your local rural telephone/broadband provider) to apply. The local provider acts as your sponsor. Grants typically range from $250 to $5,000.

Featured Opportunity: The Community Grant Program is their main offering. It funds a wide variety of community improvements—from technology for a classroom to equipment for a volunteer fire department. The key is the partnership: you find your local rural internet provider, ask them to sponsor you, and submit the app together.

Recommendation: A rural school, fire department, or library that has a good relationship with their local, small-town telephone/internet company. It’s an easy "win-win" for the company to sponsor you.
